The Bach system

There are 38 remedies in the Bach system, all of which were discovered in the 1920s and 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, a bacteriologist, physician and pathologist in England. Each remedy is associated with a basic human emotion and helps us to rediscover inner harmony and balance by accompanying us through these emotions.

“Plants [...] also take away our fears and worries and leave us happier and better within ourselves”. Dr Bach

The aim of Dr Bach's system is to be as easy to use as “picking lettuce from the garden if you're hungry”. So it's important to keep it as simple as possible to get the most out of it. Indeed, the system is based on listening to feelings and emotions along with helping oneself. Dr. Bach's system does not require science, but knowledge of the flowers. By knowing the remedies, we can treat imbalances with the utmost simplicity.

“It is its simplicity, in combination with its general healing effects, that is so wonderful.” Dr. Bach

The principle of “peeling the onion” proposed by the method is to treat the “layers” one after the other, taking into account what's happening today and right now, without worrying about any buried emotions that will come to light as the onion is peeled, or the symptoms generated by any illness.

“When we treat cases with these remedies, we don't take into account the nature of the illness. [...] One chooses the aspect of the spirit as a guide for choosing the remedy or remedies needed.” Dr. Bach

The method

Bach remedies help to balance everyday emotional states. Taking them by mouth can help you achieve other wellbeing benefits. They are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. It is your sole responsibility as a client to seek qualified professional help for any symptom or medical condition. If it seems to me that you need further support, I will let you know, but my role as advisor does not allow me to recognize or diagnose any physical or psychological condition, nor to prescribe any treatment whatsoever. Nothing I say can be understood in that sense. If I recommend referral to a professional, it is your responsibility to act on my recommendation.

If you are under the care of a doctor or other health professional, I recommend that you inform them of your decision to use Bach remedies. Any changes to your current treatment should be made in consultation with this person.

With few exceptions, everything discussed in consultation will be confidential. However, I reserve the right to share information with an appropriate person if I am concerned about your safety or the safety of others. If this should happen, I will discuss it with you beforehand, except in cases of immediate danger.

My fee covers the time I spend with you teaching you the system. If, at the end of the session, you choose to take one or more of the remedies we have discussed, you can prepare a bottle for yourself with a bottle, spring water and my remedies, which I will make available to you. This is your personal choice and is not part of the service.
